Kraftin' Kimmie's Saturday Challenge

Kraftin' Kimmie's Saturday Challenge

As you know, one of my favorite stamp companies, right now, is Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! She runs challenges on her blog. I am entering this card in her Saturday Challenge which is Spring themed! I also used her card sketch as inspiration.

This cute little Spring Girl is from Treasure Box Designs (I am on the Design Team for this company). I colored her up with Copics & used some paper that I actually won in a Facebook contest a couple of years back. I think that it came together nicely & could be used for pretty much any occasion.

Enjoy!

Unicorns Exist!

Unicorns Exist!

So, this happened last week!

After 10+ years as a loyal & faithful Cricut user, I got a Silhouette Cameo 3 as a birthday present from my sweet hubby & daughter! I had kind of started thinking about getting one a few months ago. Then, I started telling my hubs about some of the cool things that Silhouette does that Cricut doesn't do, yet. He told me to order one for my birthday! Yay!! So, now, here sit with my two machines, side by side!

I'll tell you what, the software for the two machines is so completely different that I've been playing with my Sil every chance I get. The first two things I made (forgot to take pictures of them), were birthday cards for my aunt. For my third project, I thought I'd try out one of the features that drew me to Silhouette, PixScan & the ability to cut out around something!!

This cute little unicorn on the front of  this Unicorns Exist gift tag gift card holder is from Treasure Box Designs. You will soon be able to get it here. And, the gift tag gift card hold is from Jamie Cripps. I altered it by removing some of the design elements that were included. I think it's super cute! You can purchase it in the Silhouette Store or on digiplayground.com. (The one on Digiplayground is Snowflake instead of Love.) I colored her up using Copics & then made the tag with some fun paper that I bought several years ago.

Copics used:
Body - W7, 5, 3, 1
Nose, Ears, Heart - RV13, 21, 10
Mane - BV05, 01, 00
Horn - BV08, V17, 15
Hooves - G05, 14, YG03

ENJOY!!

Again, I used retired papers from Close To My Heart. I thought the blues & browns were great colors! I kept the inside simple on this one.

This one is also colored with Copic Markers. I think over the summer, my 13 year old daughter & I are going to take the Colored Pencil class over at Kit and Clowder. I have a good collection of high-quality PrismaColor colored pencils that I'm anxious to use!

Party Animals

This is a fun set! Great for making birthday cards for kids, adults, or "from the group"! The challenge with this card was the colors. Because I'm trying to do the best I can to coordinate the colors of the paper to those in the images, this one was really limited to yellows, greens, & browns. I do LOVE how it turned out, though! And, I got this fun card idea from one of my favorite places to get card & layout ideas~PageMaps!

Copics used:
Giraffe~YR24, YR21, Y21; E37, E35, E33, E31
Monkey~E79, E29, E25, E71; E37, E33, E31

As a matter of face, I am on the Design Team for Treasure Box Designs! Another Fun Card

Ready for another fun card??

Again, this one was made with CTMH (Close To My Heart) papers from ages ago! And, it's so much easier to match the colors of the image to the papers I choose rather than trying to find papers that match my colored image!

Another adorable KKS set! This is an 8-piece set. It contains only 1 image but has 7 super cute cat themed phrases! The design of the card is inspired by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Wonderful Wednesday Blog Challenge & uses her monthly sketch as inspiration!

After coloring the image, I fussy cut & adhered it to a piece of solid red to help make it stand out from the card. Then, I fussy cut that, too. The image is pop-dotted to make it stand out above the rest.

Very simple inside for this one. Plenty of room to write a note!
Skin: E11, 21 51, 50
Mouth: R22
Cheeks: R20
Hair: E59, 57, 35
Kitties: C5, 4, 3, 2, 0, R22, 21, 20
Shoes: E37, 35, 33, 31
Shirt: R59, 29, 27, Y17, 15, 02, YG85, 94, 03
Shorts: Oops! Forgot to write those down!

Trying A New Tactic

I've been really working on my coloring, lately! Now, I have a bunch of images & nothing to do with them. After visiting with some of my fellow coloring friends, I tried a new tactic. I picked out a card idea that I liked thinking through the stamps (digi & physical) that I had or wanted to use. Then, I went to my paper stash to choose some papers. For these first few cards, I have chosen to use papers left over from paper kits that I bought from Close To My Heart YEARS AGO! Probably close to 10 years ago. I've gotten lots of good use out of these kits but still had plenty of paper left. That's one of the things I love most about card making. You can use small scraps that are left over to make adorable cards!

Over the next couple of days, I'm going to share some cards that I've done! I hope that you enjoy them. When possible, I will add product links so that you can purchase the products, too. And, if you see a card that you like, I can say pretty certainly that I will sell it to you!

With all that said, are you ready for the first one? Here goes!

This adorable stamp is part of a 6-piece set by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! There are two bears and 4 phrases. It's so versatile because it can be for boy or girls! I geared this one toward girls just by using pink and brown papers and coloring the bear and the pillow using coordinating pink and brown.  KKS is one of my new favorite stamp company's!

I saw this technique of stamping the image or a coordinating image on the inside from one of the groups I'm in on Facebook. I thought it was a such a fun idea that I gave it a shot! I think it turned out great!

I used my Copic markers to color this little cutie up!
Pillow: R22, 21, 20
Tummy/Paws/Mouth: E11, 21, 00, 000
Ears/Nose: R02, 00, 000
Bear: E33, 43, 31
