Color Dare Challenge #690

 Hello!! It's time for a NEW Color Dare Challenge!

You must use at least 2 of the colors shown in the graphic. DO NOT add any extra colors to the palette, however you can use Free colors Black, White, Neutrals and Metallics as identified in graphic.

If you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your colors are a very close match to ours in the graphic.  Most importantly - have fun!

I used an Anya from The Greeting Farm. I don't remember which set, tho. Lol. And, the sentiment is from My Favorite Things. Check out some of the other amazing designs & join the challenge!

Color Dare Challenge #668

This week’s Color Dare Challenge #668 is all about bright, happy colors—red and yellow! 🌟 We were allowed to use the specific shades shown in the challenge graphic, plus add in black, white, neutrals, or even a touch of gold metallic.

I couldn’t resist pulling out another sweet little die set from the 2024 Spellbinders Advent Calendar. This time, I made a fun little 3x3 card that could represent just about any drink you imagine…but I decided mine had to be lemonade! 🍋

I love how cheerful and summery this turned out. The bold pop of red for the straw pairs perfectly with the sunny yellow drink. I kept the background simple so the colors could really shine, and I finished it off with the sentiment “Have A Sweet Day.” To add just a touch more detail, I sprinkled in a few Honeybee Enamel Dots for accents.

This mini card makes me smile because it’s so versatile—you could tuck it into a lunchbox, add it to a small gift, or even use it as a little “just because” note for someone who needs a pick-me-up.

Color My Heart Color Challenge #666

This week’s Color Challenge is such a fun one—and honestly, it felt like it was made just for me! Orange is my second favorite color, and teal is my third, so I was already excited before I even sat down at my desk. Pair those bold, happy colors with a soft cream neutral, and I knew this was going to be an easy (and super enjoyable!) challenge.

I decided to pull out a little hot air balloon die that came in the 2024 Spellbinders Advent Calendar. Isn’t it just the cutest? It’s been sitting in my stash waiting for the right project, and these colors gave me the perfect excuse to finally use it.

At first, I wasn’t sure what direction to take, but I quickly realized it made the sweetest little gift tag! I love how a tag can stand alone as a small project, but it also has so much versatility—you can pop it onto a card front, tuck it into a gift bag, or even use it as an embellishment on a scrapbook page. Don’t you just love when one little project can do double (or triple!) duty?

I can’t wait to see how you all use this week’s combo. Do you lean more toward the bold side with the orange and teal, or will you keep it softer by letting the cream be your star? However you play, it’s always so fun to see all the different creative takes.

I used the Food Stand die sets from MFT to make this darling coffee stand card! I love to make tent cards but they always slide flat. I started making them with their own built in stands! For this card, I added a couple of cute little coffee cups to complement the cards.

Special April Instagram Hop!

We are excited to announce a special hop this month, focusing on some of the outstanding stamp sets previously released by Artful Angel. Design Team Call

Artful Angel is looking for ONE Design Team Member to join our team! 

What's the commitment each month?

• Your term commitment will be February 2025 through December of 2025. You will be required to produce a minimum of 3 projects with that each month's release. Additional projects with other Artful Angel products are not required but would be appreciated throughout each month. 

How often will I need to post?

• There will be an Instagram Release Hop on the 5th of each month. You will be required to participate in the Hop. In addition, each project will need to be posted in the Artful Angel Takes Flight Facebook group, as well. Any other Facebook groups you can post in, please do! The more exposure & sales that Artful Angel gets, the better! You will also need to comment in FB on your fellow DT members posts as well as commenting on other posts added by customers. Engagement is my keyword for 2025!

What are the benefits to me?

• You will be able to sign up for an affiliate link that you can use to offer your followers a discount plus receive a small commission for yourself.
• You will receive 3 stamp sets each release. If there are more than 3 stamp sets in the release, you will still only receive 3 sets of my choice. 
• You will also receive a 50% discount on all Artful Angel branded products & 35% off other brands sold in the shop (except Copic markers as though are already reduced).

How do I apply?

• Please email photos of 3 recent projects to info@shopartfulangel.com by December 31st. It's Time For The November Release!

It's time for the November Release! This month we have 3 gorgeous & coordinating sets-Strut Your Stuff, Birds Of A Feather, & Disco Turkey! These sets are so fun to color because peacocks have such amazing colors! I cannot get enough of these amazing sets.

In my sample, I colored up the peacock from the 4x4 set, Strut Your Stuff. I recently got some peacock feathers in the mail from someone who had taken one of my classes. She was actually the inspiration for this set! I used one of the feathers she sent me behind the colored image. I think the feather makes a fun touch!

February IG Hop-Smell The Flowers

2022 Fall Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I *may* be a weirdo here but I don't like coffee. 😮 I know, I know, it's shocking. I do LOVE the way it smells, tho! But, I do still have a caffeinated vice....BUBBLE TEA! I love all things Bubble Tea...Thai Milk Tea, Honey Oolong With Mango, Taro Milk Tea, Refreshing Green Teas of all kinds. I could go on and on and on. Lol. I will save you my very extensive list. I know where almost every Bubble Tea shop in our area is. Yes, I have a problem. When one loves all things Bubble Tea & one must own every brand of stamp that has a Bubble Tea stamp of some kind. I pretty much have them all but I'm sure that I am missing one somewhere. Lol.

Of course, when Artful Angel launched our own line of stamps earlier this year, one of the first sets on my list was a Bubble Tea set. I knew that I needed just the right artist for this set. I love the way that Sandy Boone from Three Room Studio draws people. I carry several of her stamps in the Artful Angel shop so I took a chance and asked her if she'd be willing draw a Bubble Tea set for Artful Angel. She agreed & Bubble Tea Buddies was part of our July Release! I hope you love this card & this set as much as I do!!

For this card I used a card front I had made from Kendra's Card Challenge #7. I think it worked perfectly with this image & the colors were nearly a perfect match! One of these quarters, I will actually get all the cards done in time to participate & possibly win a prize. ARTFUL ANGEL!!

Details..Well I made a slim line card so I could use a couple of the Images from this set.  I did some die cutting ok maybe lots of die cutting.  I stamped my images onto white card stock with black ink.  I then colored them up with Prisma Pencils!! I just love how this card turned out.  Have a great day and try and have some crafty time.

8 Crazy Nights…Celebrating Hanukkah!

Hello! I want to share this gorgeous card that I made using our new 8 Crazy Nights Sentiments stamp set & the Festival Of Lights paper pack from PhotoPlay. I followed a tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers to make this great card! I made few "alterations" to their design (not necessarily on purpose lol). I had a blast making this card! It was so fun to use all this fun ribbon!

Extra Chromie-Bringing Awareness To Down syndrome

Here are two birthday cards that I made with one of our new sets from August Release! It's called Extra Chromie! 

This set has been in my head for quite some time & I am so excited with how it came out! My inspiration is my sweet friend, Lucy. Lucy is the daughter of my best friend, Michelle, from my middle school years in a small town in rural Nebraska. The image of the two hands is actually Lucy & her mom's hands! 

I just cannot tell you how much I love this set!! It makes my heart happy! And, through August 31st, 15% of the sales of this set will be donated to Cornerstone Ranch, a working ranch here in McKinney, Texas for those with special needs. Cornerstone Ranch also has a Day Program. I can't wait to take them a check!

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. This set was created with the intention of encouraging our friends with Down syndrome and bringing awareness. Lucy is a special friend who loves life & is full of smiles. We love her & the light that she brings to her family & her friends! We are thankful to have her in our lives!

Flowers come together with THANK YOU notes

 Day #4 of Artful Angel's Big Thanks set. Big Sentiments like these THANK(S) stamps from Artful Angel are the perfect match to cards with floral die-cuts. Cards with floral die-cuts as the main or a secondary focal point are all the rave lately.  BIG sentiments help ground the diecuts and give an extra punch to the card.

Super simple card but what makes this card is that HUGE embossing THANK YOU! I want you to notice that I folded one of the flowers in half to make it look like it's facing sideways. Small changes like that on your cards make a big difference. 

My second card is another floral die-cut card with the BIG THANKS set, complementing both the doily and the die-cuts. The golden bling was the final touch for this card.

Rainbow BIG THANKS and more Medallions!

 Day #3 of Artful Angel's Big Thanks set. You might recognize the pattern paper from day one, I had some leftovers, enough to cut this medallion! This card is an OOPSY! card. Have you ever glued your focal image to the wrong side of the card? That's what I did on this one! I tried prying it open since I had used liquid glue, but it left a mark. I kept pushing forward and that is how this background became.

I think in this shot of the card, you can see better the "vanilla" colored polka-dots that I originally stamped. Since now the medallion was on the bottom because of my error, I doodled in black and added bling to balance the card out.

My second card is an image to PRIDE MONTH! I wanted to do a rainbow-colored card. I used the little butterfly Artful Angel's Adventure Awaits set.  Yes, I cut out the butterfly by itself for easy stamping.

SHINY, BIG THANKS Inspiration

 

Day #2 of Artful Angel's Big Thanks set. I love balloons!  They just make me happy! For this card, I used The Greeting Farm Hello Bestie and Gerda's You lift me up. Heat embossed in gold The BIG THANK + S and tied the balloons to the sentiment.  I love that this set allows you to make THANK YOU or THANKS by adding the S!  I think that is brilliant!

I truly love this card! It is one of those ideas that the end result is just as you imagined it. In this shot, you can see how much the gold shines on this card including the bling!  Making the balloons have rainbow colors make it so it is a harmonious look.

July is here and we have a new sketch challenge in the Artful Angel Takes Flight FB group! Kim is running this month's sketch challenge and has the cutest card up on the blog on the July 1st post. Give the template a go for inspiration, mine started looking like the sketch, and then it took a mind of it's own.  You can see the rectangle pattern paper, the main image (but mine is a circle) and my tie is the handmade tassel. For my card, I used the  Artful Angel's Big Thanks set. This week, I will be give you some ideas on how to use this fantastic set.  I love this set, I think it's "sassy" and the sub-sentiments are the best thing ever! (Check out my second card on this post.)

A little close-up of the medallion I created. Super simple, I die-cut a scalloped circle and then wrapped a crochet string around it from behind.  I wanted to ensure it was not in a specific order but more random. Stamped the BIG THANK YOU, cut it out with my SNC, and added some dimension to the sentiment. I wanted to add something black to tie in the string and the black, so I doodled a frame around the pattern paper. 

Here is my second card for the day using the Artful Angel's Big Thanks set. This time I used the same sentiment, but it has a completely different look by heat embossing it in gold. Instead of flags, I used some circle embellishments. Remember to make the sketch work for you! Below, a little close-up of the embossed background were I added the BIG thanks sentiment.

July Sketch Challenge

 Hello angels!  DT Kim here to share the July Sketch Challenge!  I am so excited to be hosting the challenge this month and cannot wait to see your creations! 

This month's sketch is a super fun one from @cardmaps that includes several elements, including lots of layers, banners, thread wrapping and stitching!   Don't be intimidated, though!  

This sketch is a lot easier to work with than it looks!  You do not have to copy the sketch exactly.  Use it as a baseline and use the elements that work for you. 

I created a 5" x 7" card, because I wanted to be able to fit all of the elements without having my card feel cramped.  I colored up the cute Savannah image from the new Adventure Awaits stamp set with Copics (colors listed below) and because this image is a bit larger, I scaled my card size to fit. 

This image was a TON of fun to color up!  I mean seriously, how cute is Savannah floating on the log with her adorable little frog pal?!   I added the sun to the upper corner of the panel, masked it off and I blended some pale blue ink very lightly just to fill in the white space and create a sky.  I used some Photoplay 6x6 paper that I had in my stash to created the polka dot panel and all 4 of the banners.  (My banners are 0.75" wide.)  

I did add an additional white panel so that I could use it for wrapping, and not have the thread wound across the inside of my card.  I used some blue cotton crochet thread that I found on Amazon.  I really like this crochet thread for wrapping card panels.  You will notice that I did not include the stitching element in this card.  Because my panel has the water, I didn't feel that the stitching would add anything, and in truth might have been more of a distraction.
